THEY KISSED

Judgment526 • 2 years ago

Bold move, Tamahiko!

Veldora • 2 years ago

But he did the best move, most anime mcs don't

Byno • 2 years ago

The last time we got an MC this bold was in Tonikaku Kawaii XD

Veldora • 2 years ago

Yep, and that turned out awesome

Mr.Gold • 2 years ago

Nah dude, Nasa is a much better MC than Tamahiko, he already kissed Tsukasa a few episodes in, and they had more wholesome moments and even some hot ones, including kisses, throughout the anime. Incomparable in my opinion😑

Anna Rosu • 2 years ago

i mean, you also have the different time periods. you have here 1922, where as you've seen during the Tokyo shopping trip episode, it was considered indecent to even feed your lover in public.
both Taishou Otome and Tonikawa are wholesome for the time periods that they're set in.
this one had plenty of wholesomeness too, more or less visible. not everything punches you in the face saying ''bitch this wholesome look at them doing cute lovey dovey stuff''
just my opinion

Mr.Gold • 2 years ago

Doesn't really change the fact, they don't even do anything initmate at home other than the kiss, Nasa going all out in so many aspects in all sorts of places...

Judgment526 • 2 years ago

Lol, patience man…they aren’t even married yet. I think it’s safe to assume all the more intimate stuff will come after that, though it would be pretty unrealistic to expect a series like this to show any more than hugs and kisses.

Mr.Gold • 2 years ago

Yeah, I know, I wasn't expecting anything, some guy just said that it's a difference in time period with Taishou Otome and Tonikawa, I just pointed it out lol

Byno • 2 years ago

He even tried to make a move in bed XD

Qween Qingzanor • 2 years ago

ToniKawa was an extremely low bar though

Mr.Gold • 2 years ago

He did what not many could... He manned the fuck up😎

Yuki • 2 years ago

Yes, and I love how they are not noisy about their feelings and just move on with the flow. It's refreshing to see for a romance Shoujo type anime! Go go Tamahiko

Qween Qingzanor • 2 years ago

It's shounen despite having a female mangaka, if you check original manga.

RIZER • 2 years ago

Bold Tamahiko is the best Tamahiko. xD

Well I didn't expected him to make a CHAD move like this....

BunnyLuvr • 2 years ago

Well you know what they say about the quiet, shy kids. Gotta be careful of their potential hehehe

Shiroshiroshirosan • 2 years ago

and then he backed off like the beta male he is.

Anime & Rutabagas • 2 years ago

A great gift for her birthday lol

Tamahiko x Yuzu FTW

Veldora • 2 years ago

Best gift for her

Amu • 2 years ago

I love how Yuzu is prepared to marry him but blushes over a kiss xD

They're so cute!

Aditya Negi • 2 years ago

i want MOOOREEE

RIZER • 2 years ago

I think FBI doesn't exist in this era so it's safe. xD

AquaDrix • 2 years ago

Well, they are 2 years apart so I don't think FBI would be needed

Filipe Cordeiro • 2 years ago

not only that but in this time period in japan 14 years old is safe, there would be nothing they could do even if they did exist

Wasn't expecting even almost kissing until episode 11 or 12

strange guy • 2 years ago

Yeah I know

Nemesis Claus • 2 years ago

Tamahiko even jumped over his young wife

TeeKayz • 2 years ago

Indeed and they're blushing as well.
But still not hardcore as Nasa x Tsukasa.

Iceknight Magna • 2 years ago

And. It. Was. Perfect....until the obligatory anime "OMG, I'm so embarrassed" schtick played out afterwards and almost ruined it.

BunnyLuvr • 2 years ago

It may be a "schtik", but you too will understand once you experience the same thing hehe

AISAN • 2 years ago

It's normal for them to kiss, nothing surprising!

zEscOOt • 2 years ago

Just Two words SPOILER TAGS

Aotori Augustus • 2 years ago

that's not what spoil tag is for. It's for people who read the source material and knows what happen in future episode. You shouldnt read comment before the episode

Judgment526 • 2 years ago

You know, I really would've been a bit more sympathetic toward Ryou if she weren't such a b**tch to Tamahiko and Yuzu last episode...

Still waiting on a proper apology from her to the couple, but I feel like it's just going to be brushed aside and forgotten about.

ShycoWar • 2 years ago

There's definitely some improvement here, but I can't say I'm a fan of the way she handwaved what she did as mere "teasing".

The apology was nice enough, but I think Tamahiko's really owed one as well. And not just the "say sorry and move on" kind; I don't think it's too far-fetched to want a proper dogeza, to show that she fully understands the weight of what she did.

That seems pretty unlikely to happen, unfortunately. Usual patterns would dictate that her "introductory arc" is just about over now, and it's time to focus on the final girl instead <_<

Typecero • 2 years ago

Yeah looks like we’re gonna have a rug withA lot of dust Under it, metaphorically speaking.

Mr.Gold • 2 years ago

I could fit Godzilla under that rug😵

Billy Bob • 2 years ago

i want to see a flying dogeza with a nice form and air time

LabanBes • 10 months ago

There is no damn improvement here, she "apologized" because she yuzu wasn't the kind of person she thought she was, instead of what a damn bitch she is

Anime & Rutabagas • 2 years ago

I guess she's ok since she apologized lol

Byno • 2 years ago

Just because she's doesn't mean she's been excused. I always come back to this one phrase I think of, and that's if apologies worked, there'd be no need for the police. Same logic here, she basically tried to sabotage their relationship last episode, even after knowing the situation she's in, I can't forgive her

Porthya • 2 years ago

It's not just that, she comes across as having some deeper issues( understandable, given her situation at home) that need to be sorted out away from people that trigger them(she mistrusts "men" and even hates them, given her excess in teasing Tamahiko, her doubting their happiness, and how she can only be straightforwardly kind to only her younger brothers or other younger children), while she continues to flirt with a guy with a pile of problems of his own and is literally injecting herself into their lives. That level of shamelessness, no matter the 1 minute long apology or help with the cooking, keeps coming back and makes the apology null and void, as well as keep her troublesome nature alive.
From a realistic pov...and historical fiction would normally have that, she is the type of person that will eventually cause your other shoe to drop, especially if her poorer than theirs condition persists and so the reasons for envy or disdain do as well, whether displayed openly or hidden under "teasing".

Billy Bob • 2 years ago

and she comes in and shoves the freak'n owner of the house aside the one who went out of his way to look for your brother

Porthya • 2 years ago

Yeah, that's part of what belies her persistent issues with older boys and adult men. I can't exactly blame her, as a woman myself, for having trust issues or feeling animosity towards certain types of guys, but she should know better than take it out on strangers that still draw her attention and envy for having different odds in life. She's intelligent and educated enough to question the moral aspects of what she sees around her.

Mr.Gold • 2 years ago

Call me sexist but it's pretty rare to see a woman comment here in Gogo, not to mention voice out detailed opinions and arguments... Albeit somewhat lacking in comparison to the ones I've seen... Oh and by the way, if you're offended then sorry but I just don't care about those controversial ideas like racism or sexism etcetera etcetera, it's complicated and even I can't properly explain😁

Anyways, to add onto your point, rather than her being intelligent and educated, it'd be more accurate to say that she's "street smart" and is experienced in day to day life and uses that as a basis in how she acts, which is flawed considering the life she's had to experience and is more than enough to explain her unusual tendencies. I personally don't think her problem is with older boys. but that she's just a cynical person overall, she is fond of younger kids as she probably views them as being pure and untainted by the whims of society.

I should also point out that Taisho Era Japan probably have different kinds of people in comparison to Todays time, her moral aspects would probably dictate survival rather than something actually moral, shown as she happily resorts to stealing to provide and is even willing to damage a pure relationship she knows, or at least subconsciously feels, is genuine, that alone is ethically and morally questionable respectively.

Porthya • 2 years ago

I'm not sure why especially you would view my comment/s lacking, I wasn't trying to write a thesis, only sharing one or two things off the top of my head, so I wasn't aiming for an exhaustive comment anyway.
When and where women comment are subjects besides the point, common sense still asks a human to consider the presence of any/all genders in more generic and general spaces just as likely as it is out on the streets. However I see no relevant purpose to your mentioning that "vocal" female anime viewers are in the minority here. I also know it. I simply choose to comment as an individual who also happens to be a woman and thus would sometimes make exception from some of the common povs.
And don't worry, something in what you wrote and did cancels any possibility of you causing me any offense.

As for what your observation is lacking, there's awareness of a type of education that's been available to humans since the emergence of this species. I apologise for my comment lacking in naming it, I was under the impression that it was obviously inferred(non-formal education is commonly called "street smarts", or at least a partial form of it is). Just as intelligence is nowadays classified in at least 8 types. And the fact that people back then didn't have these classifications doesn't change at all the fact that they still possessed those very types of intelligence and had access to at least non-formal education. That's why I referred to her as intelligent and educated.

In this very episode we're being reminded of other options for poor girls or boys like her besides stealing or selling herself(Ryo's assumed options). She could've asked someone to find her a "hired help" job( I, at least, am aware that even back then there were businesses relying more on the work of women than men), maybe even tried to ask for such a job from Tamahiko himself, even before Yuzu was sent in. But her entire behaviour so far has been portraying her as someone always looking for the easy way around an issue. And her unwillingness to abstain from repeating the mistakes she was doing before she "apologised" nullifies the gesture. Also, the fact that she can analyse others' deeds and morality, but refuses to auto-analyse, still puts her in a bad light.

They're also at the point in civilisation development where both girls and boys received at least elementary schooling, obviously since girls wouldn't need some knowledge of reading, writing and mathematics only to "keep their own house", but also in paid work. Paid work other than prostitution. Any era has/has had different kinds of people, our current era still sees areas of the planet where whole tribes of people still live by the same traditions, customs, moral and ethics they've been following for hundreds or thousands of years. There are still whole communities where no member can read or write and I could go on. And there's obviously very little difference in mores between this Japanese Taisho Era and some corners of our current planet. The struggle for survival is just as valid today as it was centuries or thousands of years ago.

I'm not saying that she can't ever be redeemed, I'm simply arguing, from a realistic perspective, that her new leaf can only be turned in a different environment. Otherwise, between her issues and the MCs' issues, the problems will persist or one day resurface.

Mr.Gold • 2 years ago

I'm not gonna lie, the grammar is bad but I enjoyed the points.

The whole thing about "street smarts" isn't necessarily inferred as you mentioned "educated" instead of just "intelligent", so that's where the confusion lies, as "educated" refers to a sort of formal learning rather than the informal of "street smart" which isn't commonly referred to as education, but rather experience or something similar.

I'm not really seeing anything on your view on my points, just that you added on to it, which was not really "adding" so much as it was specifying and broadening my points... I'm also not sure why some parts of your argument werr even added but ok...

Anyways, let me micromanage this... First off, your making her seem like a nihilist, which she isn't as seen how she still enjoyed life and struggled for it, not to mention that she trusts and cares for her family and even took a liking to Yuzu and Tamahiko, albeit in an oddly portrayed way on the anime, rather than generally being distrustful of everything in existence...

And by the way, she can't get a "hired help" job as it would be too inefficient considering her family circumstances and I doubt she could do well in that area, those types of work are really only suitable for men, while women would need higher education for a better job, maybe even just to get a proper one excluding proprietorship. Ryo would assume those options as they were the simplest and most realistically possible.

I should also point out that in their period, basic education was egalitarian and was only selective and elitist in higher levels especially for women, so I'm not really sure what you meant by the "civilisation development" part...

Lastly, she can redeem herself, and we'll probably see that happen in the anime, even if not, Ryo working and possibly her other siblings future prospects would aid in her redemption and of course Tamahiko and especially Yuzu, this is because she has already been exposed to a "different environment", and will conclude her current issues and no longer persist, the same goes for Tamahiko who now found an avenue or path and the will to go through with it.

Porthya • 2 years ago

If I were you I'd be giving that reply you just gave another look, since trying to criticise someone else's grammar with a post just as badly written or worse is rather embarrassing...(werr instead of were, really?!) and your own first attempt at patronising me under the guise of a series of "extra" points, while not even properly reading what the other person-me- wrote and going off on tangents that contradict history, was excused as something you were already adding to my points...your words, not mine. Since you didn't even read what I wrote but decided that you just need to see more of what you want to say, you can go reread your posts how many times you like and imagine I did give you an answer.
I noticed your narcissism the first time around, that's why I even said you can't bring me any offense...and I don't know, nor care whether we ever had any opinions on this character or story in common, you've completely let out your true colours; and they have the glint of pyrite, but no spark. Good bye.

Burns • 2 years ago

You don't have to mind him, honestly. This guy even insulted a real doctor a few eps back just for him not having perfect grammar.
